Notes:

It is a washed Catuai variety, produced by Hernan Gomez and his family in small estate “Buana Vista” farm, located in the mountainous area in Honduras. Hernan grew up watching his father work on the coffee farm. When he inherited a small parcel of land he began producing coffee, explore the possibilities of the Buena Vista farm achieving amazing results. Henan produces the variety Catuai that he has learned to manage coffee leaf rust avoiding the disease in recent years. He creates a natural compost from coffee pulp to improve the structure of soil, and his coffee trees are shaded by large native species. He is committed to the environment and manages his farm with low use of chemicals.


Hernan envisions a future with greater opportunities after he decided to enter the Honduras Cup of Excellence back in 2015, and won second place. He hopes to improve the living conditions of his family by continually produces high quality coffee.


After we received this coffee and finished roast profiling, we found this coffee expresses the origin characteristics clearly as expected, which is sweet with high quality of forest fruit notes. Our roaster developed the roast profile slightly light to be right for this coffee, in order to maintain cleanliness while still highlighting beautiful layers of acidity and delicious dryness of fruit peels in a cup.
